Meet Golden Kitty Jewellery

At Golden Kitty Jewellery, we create one-of-a-kind pieces using real wildflowers foraged in Nova Scotia — never dyed, never purchased. Every bloom is handpicked by us, a small family team of lifelong artists: two sisters and their mom.

It all began in 2021. After getting married during covid in a snowstorm, Deanna wanted to turn her dried wedding bouquet into jewellery. The first pieces were a little rough, but the process was fun! Soon she found herself picking spring violets and forget-me-nots, creating cute studs and dangles, and opening her very first etsy shop.

It wasn’t long until the business grew– and so did the team. In the last few years, we have attended over 200 craft shows and markets, expanded our product line, refined our style, found our customers, and grew a brand.

Now, you’ll find Golden Kitty Jewellery at farmer’s markets, in shops around Nova Scotia, and worn by customers all across Canada and beyond.

From wilderness to wearable art

Our team at Golden Kitty spends countless hours hand-picking flowers from forests, fields, and our own property in Annapolis County. We then preserve them using a variety of pressing methods, depending on the flower. Some take days, others weeks — it’s a patient, delicate process that we’ve refined over years.

Once dry, each bloom is carefully sorted and stored. When designing a piece, we build everything around the flower — letting its natural beauty lead the way. Our style is minimal, clean, and made to let the plants be the focus.

Before Golden Kitty, I was a graphic and web designer — but I’ve always been creative. I’ve dabbled in oil painting, embroidery, mosaics, woodworking, watercolours — and every other craft you can think of.

Who is The Golden Kitty?

Fluffy

Our childhood orange Persian cat, Fluffy — he lived to be 18 and was my best friend. This business is named for him and for every beloved kitty (or pet of any kind!) who’s brought comfort, companionship, and cuteness into our lives.
